Hello! So I'll be building my first computer soon and I've been doing some extensive research, but seeing as it's my first build, I'm wanting to check with some experts on the matter before i start buying. So I want it to be a high performance gaming PC, with 3 1080p monitors that hold a high frame rate and overclocking. Here are my Specs:

CPU: i7-5930K

CPU Cooler: be quite! Dark Rock Pro 3

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-X99-Gaming 5

RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4-2800

Storage: (two of them)-(WD Velociraptor 1TB 3.5'' 10000RPM HDD) && 250GB SSD 2.5''

Video Card: (two of them)-(Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980)

Case: Zalman z11 Plus HF1 (mid-tower ATX)

Power Supply: Dark Power Pro 850W 80plus Gold

Optic Drive: Blu-ray

OS- Windows 7 Professional (64-Bit)

Monitor: (three of them)-(AOC i2367Fh 23-Inch IPS Frameless LED-Lit Monitor, Full HD 1080p, 5ms, 50M:1)

Then Speakers (5.1 surround hopefully), keyboard, and a mouse.

The whole point of this PC is to be run with little noise, and extreme power for heavy max setting game play, coding compiling, and video rendering. Some of my thoughts behind it are: My MOBO supports a possible 64GB of RAM so i got an intel core that also supports that for the future. Which is also why i got the professional OS, for the home version didn't support over 16GB of RAM. The power source and fan are supposedly some of the least noisy in the business and I'd love to hardly hear my PC even during intense use. And i believe I'm going to need to buy 3 display port to HDMI converters for my 3 monitors right? The case said under it's specs that there were fans that were (optional), should i get the case fans for that?? Also, will everything i have fit in the said mid-tower case? I really like the look of it compared to full tower cases so I'm hoping it will but I don't know. So please tell me if this will work the way i want it to, if there's something I'm missing, or something I need to keep in mind?? All comments are welcome, as i said, this is my first attempt and i want it to be awesome! I realize the build will probably put me around 4.5 grand. I want it to last many many years with very little upgrades.

I think that cpu for gaming is a waste of money, other than that it's pretty good, personally i like a single bigass screen, in your case i'd go for a single 4k monitor, but that's MY OPINION, you might need/want the multiple screens.

Rig: I5-3570K@4.3Ghz - Cooler Thermaltake Frio Advanced - Ram Kingston 1333Mhz 8gb (2x4) - GPU GTX 970 4GD5T OC - Motherboard Z77MA-G45 - PSU CoolerMaster GX II 750w - Storage WD 500gb HDD - Sound Edifier M3700 5.1 - Headset Corsair Vengeance 1500 - Mouse Razer Deathadder 2013 - Keyboard Razer Anansi - Mousepad Steelseries QcK+ - Xbox 360 Wireless Controller x2

Yup. I believe your cards are 312 mm or so, the space available for graphic cards in that case is 290 mm. I have that case and it doesn't fit my gtx 980 haha.

Well dang. Looks like I'll be finding a larger case. Is it just me or do larger cases not look as nice? lol, thanks for the help mate.

Personal preferences really. Personally, I think phantek has full size cases that looks great. I own a phantek primo myself. They're expensive though.

Wait up. According to this site with these specific GTX 980 video cards:

http://www.amazon.ca/MSI-GTX-980-GAMING-PCI-Express/dp/B00OD38516/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1417487787&sr=8-6&keywords=gtx+980

They are only 279mm long. and the case has a 290mm clearence according to this site:

Am i still good?

That's the msi cards. Those are shorter than the gigabyte gtx 980 you listed. The gigabyte ones are 312 mm. You can switch to a shorter gtx 980 if you want to keep the case. :D

I think ill do the MSI then :) so long as there isn't a large difference between them. I'm a little worried about the Dark Rock Pro 3 fan being too large though. Any chance you know much on that? It is rather large based off the youtube videos i've watched.

You're all set with the case then! I'm not too positive about the clearance for your cooler and the dominators. Maybe someone else can help you with that.

You can start by looking at the dimensions of the cpu cooler and how far over it stretches on the motherboard and see if the dominators' heatsinks get in the way or not.

Ill cross my fingers. If it just barely does't fit could i unscrew the metal piece that covers the top of the RAM sticks?

The dominator ram is really tall, I don't think it will fit with the dark pro if you want to utilize quad channels. You should probably just grab some low profile ram sticks instead.

\e. Or normal ram sticks that aren't ridiculously tall like the dominator haha.

haha okay, got any recommendations? One of the reasons i picked the dominator was for the 2666 or so Mhz

Ok cool. One last thought: Hooking up all 3 monitors to the first video card with display port to HDMI adapters is the correct way to do it right? Then have nothing on the second video card

I have no experience with this so I'm just gonna leave it there for now... you can probably ask in the graphic card or display subforum for better answers.

dude if your only wanting to go with 3 1080p monitors you can save some cash and go SLI GTX 970's

Yah? Is there any chance you know the proper way to hook that up to the monitors? 970's seem to have a DVI-d, DVI-i, HDMI, and a display port. What would be the proper rigging?

Look it up on youtube it will give you a step by step instruction on how to do it and i would recommend going with two of these 970s it actually has 3 display port 1 hdmi and the dvi-d and dvi-i connections

Hm, I think we just ran into a similar issue with the above comments, those sticks are too long for my case. Lol I really want it to work in the case i have chosen

Hmm i guess you can go with a different brand 970 then if you want to keep that case.

If you decide to change to a different case check out the Fractal Design Define R4 or R5 those two cases both will support those GPU's
