i was gonna say G1 gaming but than i remembered it's about $150 more the MSI Gaming and the performance difference is only about 3~4%, so i would say MSI gaming

Depends on where you are, here in Canada, it's a worthwhile $20 difference.

It's good for SLI if your case has decent airflow. If it's on sale though then who cares, even if you have sub-par airflow, 970s don't spit out huge amounts of heat back into your case. It was really only an issue with older non-reference Nvidia and AMD cards cause they produced more heat. The G1 970 is still good for SLI.

Any idea why the MSI blower is carried by so few retailers? I never see it on newegg and pcpartpicker only lists it for SuperBiiz and Amazon.

Nobody really uses it, unless you have an OEM case or something most cases have enough airflow to accommodate a single non-reference 970.

I always see the EVGA and PNY blowers for sale everywhere. Surely people are buying those.

The G1 Gaming has the highest OC, better cooling than MSI/Asus Strix, better power delivery (more OC potential) and a binned chip.

So, G1 Gaming is the answer for the questions 1, 2 and 3.

4.- It's pure luck

5.- Any blower style card, MSI, Asus, EVGA ACX 2.0 and Gigabyte 970's coolers will blow the hot air in the case, that's not good for SLI. With a blowe style cooler you pull all the hot air outside the case, leaving fresh air for the other cards in SLI. You sacrifice noise and a little bit of cooling performance, but it's the second best option for SLI (watercooling is the best for cooling cards in SLI, but costs a hell lot more)

3. Asus Strix

100% wrong. The 3x windforce surpasses any other brand cooling out there without even trying (on the 970 and 980 anyway)
