So I've got this:

I7 4790k, #L435C253, and I can't figure out what the C means.

I hoped you guys could help me, as I can't assemble my pc before early next year because of no graphics card and cases in stock after black friday -.-' got some good deals though.

I heard, that C is a mix between A and B, B being low heat, higher volts, A being more heat and lesser volts. True or false?

I know what everything else is pretty much, i just need help with the C

CPU: I7 4790K(4.6@1.252v)                               Case: Fractal Design Define R5 Windowed(Black)           Cooler: CM 212 EVO + NF F12 iPPC

RAM: HyperX Fury 1600MHZ CL10 2x4GB      Storage: Samsung 850 EVO(250GB) + WD Red(2TB)      PSU: Corsair RM750 (and no, it hasn't blown up!)

MoBo: Asus Maximus VII Ranger                      Graphics: MSI GTX 970 TwinFrozr (1494MHZ Core)       OS: Windows 10 Enterprise

Well considering volts is the major source of heat in a chip I'd say where ever you got that info from is unreliable. The thermal compound between the die and silicon for devils canyon is supposed to be extremely well controlled so there isn't a huge fluctuation between chips. I can't help you with your batch though.

I just heard the "more volts less heat" for b everywhere, and "less volts more heat" for a everywhere, so i would consider that reliable, they must have some fairy dust they put on those chips :)

L4 is supposed to be a newer run of the CPUs (and be better/cooler). Beyond that I wouldn't get too hung up over batch numbers.

I just find that the last letter is the most important telling about voltage/heat, thats why i wanted to know what it meant, but noone seems to know.

Well, the top one is a C, and a L4, so I don't think i should worry too too much :)

Edit:

Derp, L4 means malaysia 2014

35 is the week

C is the stepping

The rest is lot number.

So what i want to be looking for is batch #L435( c ), and overclockers doing that.
