CPU and MB upgrade

I am upgrading my motherboard and processor (amd to intel) and am planing a fresh install of Windows 8.

All my important data is on my second drive. Should I just throw in the new hardware and go from there? Or is there a way to remove everything from the drive with the OS on it? Basically my question is, what is the best way to go about upgrading?

Just swap hardware, when you go to reinstall Windows just reformat the drive then and install a fresh OS on it

I would say put the new components in, plug everything and do the OS install.

You can do format within window install process.
