1GB ram usage while Chrome is running?

So normally when my PC is idle I use form 2-4GB of ram at any given moment. Chrome runs a background process that uses tons of RAM from what I can tell but for some reason while benchmarking my HDD I saw that Windows 7 was only reporting just under 1GB of RAM being used.

 

Did they update Chrome or has GabeN given me some sort of PC gift.

Idle, i sit around ~1.5GB and i've got quite a few things running in the background which are hogging some of my ram.

I am sitting at 5 - 6 GB idle (chrome open ofc)

And yet, I'm only sitting at 2.4GB with this tab open in Firefox and with Steam running.

Apparently i am using 3 GB idle, with Chrome and Skype open. Fun fact: This site uses double as much RAM as Skype does, apparently.. Wut.

Sitting at 2.41GB's with CS:GO open in the background and five LTT tabs open in Chrome.

Chrome cahes a bunch of things to make webpages load faster, but sometines this can be unwanted. You can either open up Chromes task manager and kill the tabs hogging up the memory or restart Chrome as a whole to clear up your memory. I currently have 8Gb worth of Google Chrome running, so I know this pain(I usually have more than this).

When Chrome is using about 0.5 GB, and Skype only about 0.1 GB, how the heck do i get up to 3.2 GB idle usage without any other programs running?

1GB of ram usage while Chrome is running..haaaa never. Nearing 6GB usage myself with Chrome + tabs.

I use about 2.6GB with Steam and Chrome open.

Sometimes I get upto 3gb usage.

Try restarting chrome

try closing some tabs maybe get rid of some plugins

and last: delete history and cookes and such.

0.1 GB on Skype???

I use 0.5-1.2

Skype is very unoptimized.

I have broken the 13gb usage mark thanks to chrome
