Hello folks
Im building a new rig and i want to ask a few things especially about the RAM section.

This is my build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/hHHWP6

Now,im going with this motherboard mostly for aesthetics and beside that i have options for the future if im planning to overclock.

Ive searched a lot and as far as i understand the standard CL/Mhz is 9/1600 on a RAM when it comes to gaming(thats my purpose too).

With this motherboard though i have plenty of choices speed-wise when it comes to RAM.

Should i go for these RAMs i chose(which they apparently match my theme build) or spent more money for higher speed ones and will i notice a difference in the performance of my gaming?

Is it worh it?

If yes which ones do you recommend and what CL/Mhz?

if no should i buy a cheaper mobo?Any suggestions?

And finally should i consider overclocking?

Thanks in advance! :)

Go with matching the colors, you will not benefit from extra CAS or Mhz, gains are very minimal.

If you have the money and want a bit of a little extra fps (1 - 4 max) get lower CAS it higher Mhz

I never overclock, and dont really know how .. if you do know how to overclock make sure you have a good cooler like Corsairs H100i

Asus ROG mobos are a bit expensive, youll find good MSI motherboards for a cheaper price. Both are good companies

Higher speed RAM doesn't matter in gaming unless you're using an APU or it's BF4.

And I would recommend 16GB of RAM.

You know why?

When I look in build threads I see a lot of people saying "you only need 8GB of RAM for gaming!"

Heck, I've even said it a couple times.

But I go look at my RAM usage every day, and it's always above 8 GB with no games/intensive programs running. Always.

That's personal choice though. If you're tidy about closing programs you don't need or whether you tend to leave them open like I do (especially if I'm modding skyrim or something).

EDIT: If you're going with 2 970's and a 4790k it seems unbalanced to only get 8GB of RAM. I typed the info above when I couldn't see the build because it took the page a while to load :P

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

About the 2 970's...my bad

Im going with one atm but im planning to add a second one in the future when i can afford it.

Thats why im going for 8 GB of RAM for now and also upgrade to 16GB in the future

Is 4x4 good choice or should i go with 2x8 RAMs?
