To overclock it you need to use MSI Afterburner, and I would say you should go for it :)

 

 

there is a couple other programs you can use, but afterburner is the best imo

Hey Linus Tech Tips Community.

 

I'm getting a ASUS GTX 970 Strix for my Build and I was wondering what I need to do to overclock it or if I even should? I'll be OC my 4690k but I've never OC a GPU before so i don't want to stuff it up. 
 

Does anyone know of any youtube videos or guides to do it?

Are you sure you are getting the Strix? It's one of the worst overclockers.

 

Aside for that, MSI Afterburner pretty much does everything.
