I am looking at buying a MP3 player so i can carry my music libary (100ish gb) around with me the only thing i see on the market thats big enough is the ipod classic. i need it to easily slip in a pocket so the Archos 7 is physically to big.

Does anyone have any other suggestions apart from the IPod Classic as im not that big of a fan of the Itunes software

Thanks

That's a difficult question. Here in Norway the iPod classic really is the only relevant option when you're talking about that amount of storage. These days most kids here carry their cellphone with Spotify or other streaming software. Otherwise my friend has a old iPod classic that he loves. Most because his podcasts are on iTunes anyway, so that syncs up pretty well.

Otherwise I don't know about any MP3 players of that size. Sorry. I don' really think there is a big market out there for it.

Here in New Zealand our mobile data plans are still way to expensive to justify spotify. does anyone one know if the Zune120 is still in production?

Sadly no the Zune lines were discontinued a few years ago. However if you're willing to buy one used or refurbished on amazon you should be able to get one for $100-200.

Maybe a Cowon Z2 32GB + 64GB SD card? Looked into that, but some people were reporting overheating problems and it's a bit obscure, so support might not be 100% on that thing. Also, it's pretty expensive, but it offers some things iPods can't offer.

I've heard great things about the J3, it has native software and apparently can handle almost 100 gigs, and has better battery life because of it's lightweight system.

I'd also check out the rockbox forums, they have a lot of alternatives, you should be able to find one for you. Rockbox is a custom firmware that you can put on certain MP3 players, and they usually support huge amount of music
