I'm going to replace my psu as im having some issues with my graphics card and im not sure what else to do. I have an asus r9 270x it says on the box that the minimum psu is 500 watts and i only have a 430 watt psu does this matter? I was thinking of just replacing it with this http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817139048

$33.99 after MIR doesn't sound too bad to me! Here's my current build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/4zxNBm

Your PSU is capable enough for the R9 270x so that's not an issue. Also describe your graphics card issue. We may be able to help without having to spend money on solving the problem

RIG: I7-4790k @ 4.5GHz | MSI Z97S SLI Plus | 12GB Geil Dragon RAM 1333MHz | Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970 (1550MHz core/7800MHz memory) @ +18mV(Maxed out at 1650/7800 so far) | Corsair RM750 | Samsung 840 EVO 120GB, 1TB Seagate Barracuda | Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 (Closed) | Sound Blaster Z                                                                                                                        Getting: Noctua NH-D15 | Possible 250GB Samsung 850 Evo                                                                                        Need a console killer that actually shits on every console? Here you go (No MIR/Promo)

This is why you should not get an FX CPU for ANY scenario other than rendering on a budget http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/286142-fx-8350-r9-290-psu-requirements/?p=3892901 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/266481-an-issue-with-people-bashing-the-fx-cpus/?p=3620861

You can power way more beastily cards on a 450W Silverstone SFX psu, let alone needing 500w for a 270X. Manufacturer numbers are always highly exaggerated vs what a kilowatt meter reads as the actual power draw. This is assuming the PSU is decent. While you don't need crazy high wattage for even a single high end GPU solution, you do need a quality unit. It needs to provide enough amps on the 12v rail(s) for stability.

That is one of 2 things:

- It's coil whine

- It's fan rattling

Download MSI Afterburner and manually set the fans to about 70-80% and run something like Unigine Valley. Then while the fans are spinning stop them by apply force to the center of the fans with your fingers. If the buzzing stops, it's the fans that are damaged, if the buzzing continues, it's coil whine and there's nothing you can do about that.

I've RMA'd my card twice already two with the exact same problem so if its coil wine I don't think it wouldn't happened on two cards and I thought the fans were to blame at first too but not bueno
