Should I grab a R9 290 or just stick with my 7950 ?

I'm getting the defective 7950 replaced so I'm not sure what would be the best thing to do.

Intel Core I7 7820X | Asus Rampage VI | Gigabyte RX 580 XTR | 32GB Crucial Ballistix | NZXT Kraken X62

ADATA XPG 256GB PCIe| Cosmos C700P CM | Lepa MaxPlatinum 1050W

There are some great deals starting to pop up now on newegg and other sites. You'll be able to pick one up for less than $250

I would definitely go for the 290, it should be going on sale for like 250 ish, you will notice the power difference, plus the 4gb of vram is apparently becoming necessary in new games

Edit: Just a rough idea of the performance gains http://www.hwcompare.com/16217/radeon-hd-7950-vs-radeon-r9-290/
