Okay, so I have few questions. I do not have a soundcard or amp already. I run on onboard audio. I plan on attaching a modmic 4.0

1) Should I get an amp for it? If so what are some suggestions?

2.)Which version should I get 32 OHM, 80 OHM or 250 OHM?

3.) Would a soundcard be a good investment? (My MSI Z77 G43 has THX Trustudio PRO onboard audio I think)

1. Personal preference. If you're unhappy with on-board, an amp will provide a higher level of control. I ran my 250ohm's off of my onboard just fine. Only reason I picked up an amp was for dual output.

2. Again, personal preference, the lower the ohm, the easier it is to drive, and the less power draw needed. Higher ohm gives debatably better audio quality.

3. In my personal opinion, no. Many people will disagree with me, however. Neither is right or wrong.

My DT990 Premium's are 600ohm and (oddly enough) are supplied adequate power when using my tablet, but not when plugged straight into my motherboard.

1. I doubt you'd even need an amp for 250ohm, to be honest.
