Corsair RM PSU?

They're decent but unexceptional. They're made to be quiet, so of course they are.

I would suggest something different, such as an EVGA G2, Rosewill Photon/Capstone, XFX ProSeries or Cooler Master V series, but RM is okay.

Don't get one, the insides of them are basically shit. Go with a different PSU, what wattage and budget do you have for a PSU?

Are the Corsair RM power supplies any good and are they quiet?

Thinking of getting one for my new build

They are not bad PSUs.  Its just that for the same amount of money, much better quality options are available.

Namely the EVGA G2 SuperNOVA series.

You make it seem worse than it is. The secondary capacitors are second tier, the primaries are fine. An RM is a good enough unit, but you can get better for the price.

They are okay but you can find similiar quality at 1/3 the price, for example the rosewill capstone if very similar in performance yet you can grab the 750w for 40 after a rebate. (the non modular one) Corsair psu's are generally okay. Just massively overpriced.

Ryzen 3700x -Evga RTX 2080 Super- Msi x570 Gaming Edge - G.Skill Ripjaws 3600Mhz RAM - EVGA SuperNova G3 750W -500gb 970 Evo - 250Gb Samsung 850 Evo - 250Gb Samsung 840 Evo  - 4Tb WD Blue- NZXT h500 - ROG Swift PG348Q

I am sorry but i just dont like evga that much. thank you for the help though

Well, that's unfortunate, because EVGA has some very solid units that can be consider to be among one of the best on the market currently. Their higher-end units are price VERY competitively and has a 10 year warranty.

The EVGA Supernova 750w G1 isn't particularly a good unit, in which I would recommend the RM750 over it; however, the EVGA Supernova 750w G2 is an excellent high-end unit for $109.99 or $89.99 after MIR at NCIXUS.com.  http://www.ncixus.com/products/?sku=94405&promoid=1424 There's a few new units that is also going to be based on the KM3 / XP2 design from Seasonic like the AX series from Corsair.

Edit: Willing you be SLIing that 970? Because a 750w is capable of doing that.

May I ask why? EVGA is one of the best PSU sellers ATM. If you're unsure about any PSU brand, SeaSonic is the best PSU maker out there and you should pick up one of their units if truly concerned about a PSU this much. EVGA is a reputable brand. If you avoid the slightly lower-tier Supernova NEX series (made by a different manufacturer than their higher end stuff) you can rest assured that they make good stuff.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
