Can You Tell Me if This is a Good Build Plan

Moose

Ok I would like some of your guy's opinions on my build. Right now my labtop MoBo went (also like 8 years old), so I am in the market place for a new computer. I am planing to build a custom liquid cooling loop after. Here are the specs

Cpu Intel Haswell i7-4770K                                                                                                      $384.99

http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=81325&vpn=BX80646I74770K&manufacture=Intel&promoid=1288

MB Asus Maximus Vi Formula                                                                                                  $300 - 400 no price yet on it or wedsite link

Case I would like help for this pick. I would like a side window without a fan, also would like to have room to put my radiators inside when I get to water cooling. I love the look of the 900d but there is a lot of space that I don't need. I have looked at the 800d it is nice but I don't fall in love with it. Not on a budget so would like help making a final decision.

Ram Corsair Vengeance Pro Series 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 DRAM 1866MHz                           $153.98

http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=77641&vpn=CP%2D9020044%2DNA&manufacture=Corsair

or should I go with AX 860i?

http://www.ncix.ca/products/?sku=77638&vpn=CP%2D9020037%2DNA&manufacture=Corsair&promoid=1288

OS Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Edition                                                                              $147.99

http://www.ncix.ca/products/?sku=45275&vpn=FQC%2D04649&manufacture=Microsoft

I know drives look ugly but I would like one.

Drive Asus BC-12B1ST                                                                                                                 $64.08

http://www.ncix.ca/products/?sku=64648

After I put this computer together I will air cool for right now, but when i make some more money, I will build a custom water loop.

Cooling fans will be both Noctua NF- F12 whenever I don't see them, and other better looking/performance fans where i do see them. I would like some help here too. (120mm fans)

                        Noctua Fans $22.99x a few

http://www.ncix.ca/products/?sku=66920

Fan controller NZXT Sentry LX                                                                                                       $59.99

http://www.ncix.ca/products/?sku=33524

along with the fan controller I will be getting Bitspower X-Station                                                  $18.36 x2

http://us.ncix.com/products/?mode=productreviewread&product_id=30588

That is all and for the grand total                                                                                                     $2482.70 + 350 or less for case + fans

I would like to see what you guys think of the build?

looks good, get 1600mhz ram instead of 1866mhz, you wont notice the difference most likely, for the case maybe a 650d or a cm storm stryker

If your budget allows for it you may want to consider an X79 mATX build. Maybe a 3930K in a 350D with the Rampage IV Gene? Also a fan controller isn't needed since ROG boards have excellent controllers built in. The AX760 will work out better for you too.

yea thats the best looking drive haha #allblack

also i guess you went with that ram for the looks :P

also for a case if you want a truly modular case you could go with a caselabs case...they got some smallish ones that can hold tons of wcing gear...it may cost you 400$ after you add flex cages and such...

Why don't you get the 780 with an after market cooler? It performs way better than the stock cooler, although the stock one looks baller. Also why don't you pick up win 8 and install "start is back" or "classic start menu" it performs better in almost every game, and in my region it is cheaper than win 7 :-)

I recommend you get a Seagate HDD instead of WD. Western Digital tends to take a crap after a few years. Also, get either an AX 860i or 760i. These PSUs provide user control via Corsair Link.

Also, like laksen said, get a better cooler for the GTX780.

this is probably the only place i'll hang out anymore: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/274320-the-long-awaited-car-thread/

Current Rig: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, Abit IN9-32MAX nForce 680i board, Galaxy GT610 1GB DDR3 gpu, Cooler Master Mystique 632S Full ATX case, 1 2TB Seagate Barracuda SATA and 1x200gb Maxtor SATA drives, 1 LG SATA DVD drive, Windows 10. All currently runs like shit :D

Ok

Why don't you get the 780 with an after market cooler?

Like I said I will be planing to liquid cool everything after I get some more money because I don't have 3500 dollars just to spend right now for a new computer.

Also, get either an AX 860i or 760i. These PSUs provide user control via Corsair Link.

Thank you for answering my question about the PSU. I am thinking of going for the 760i then.

1600 mhz ram instead

I will keep my MB and cpu choice but thx for your suggestion on the x79 board

I like the fan controller option to control the fans to get cooler the rads and to get a cooler case temp then turn them down when i want to to be quieter later plus it looks cool

I will take a look at the Seagate HDD

I got like 2700$ right now that I am willing to spend on all the parts but I will be air cooling with stock coolers for a month or 2 or 3. Until i am ready to spend another 500- 800 dollars on liquid cool stuff

Looks good, do i see a case in that list?

also future-proof it and go with a good set of ram, i just upgraded to Kingston Hyper X 2133 mhz (16gig) kit for under $200 from NCIX.

make sure which ever memory you get its compatable and recommended by the motherboard.

And if you don't like the look of optical drives get a case with a front door panel like an R4 or something.

^^^ thats the memory kit i got from NCIX and love it,

got to love Asus components

or u can get the dominator platinum. 16 gigs cost about 150 bucks on Amazon. They have a cool light bar and even integrate Corsair Link.
