Looking for upgrade help!

I am looking to upgrade my CPU around xmas and would like some help. 

 

Budget: $200 - 250ish US

 

Current Rig:

  • CPU: Core i3 2150
  • Mobo: Msi z68a-GD55
  • Ram: 8gb --1600Mhz
  • GPU: GTX 760
  • OS: Windows 7
  • cpu cooler: CM Hyper 212 EVO
  • Power Supply: XFX 750w 
  • Disk drive: 120gb ssd, upgrading to 240 soon.
  • Monitor: 1 now, would like to upgrade to 2.

As you can see I am lacking at the CPU, not to bad though, only Arma3 gave me and real issues. But it is time to upgrade.

 

Use:

  • Moderate gaming
  • School and work

So here is my thoughts:

I could upgrade just the CPU to the 3570K.

 

Or I could swap out my mobo to a ASUS M5A97 R2.0 LE or better and put a AMD 8350. 

 

If I switch to AMD, I maybe able to sell my current mobo, cpu and old gpu for a little bit and help me either get more/faster ram or a better mobo.

 

For some reason I have an itch to switch(busta rhyme) to AMD. 

 

Any thoughts?

get any i5 4xxx series and you will be fine. just do a bios update first.

The 8350's not worth it.

Get a 8320 if you're looking into AMD.

Also, with AMD's new CPU's on it's way, you might want to wait a little longer.

I personally recommend a 4690K. Is there any way you can stretch your budget to $300?

Just get and I5 2500K or an i7 26-2700k

2500k is gen 2 and the 3570k is gen 3

and in a z68 motherboard there might be issues going to 3 Gen

and there not real benefit to the extra cost unless you can get it for a better price.

CPU's for the most part don't fail, but make sure you buy form someone with a good buyer record and that they have a return policy 

and make sure you(((((((((( READ the listing ))))))))) If it says it works and it gets to you and doesn't the seller has to give you your money back no matter what return policy or not.
