Minecraft Yogscast Complete Stutter

Resonance

I've been having this issue, where even after upgrading components the stutter is still present.

I've been playing Minecraft Yogscast Complete pack for quite a bit and I get quite a bit of stutter, even after upgrading my components.

I previously had an FX-6100 at 4.5ghz and a gtx 560, now I have a 4790k and a gtx 970. The difference is still the same.

This is the same with or without a texture pack.

Thanks, if anyone can help a bit.

Did you install the new drivers and uninstall the old ones?

I did, I reinstalled Windows fully. I'm just not sure why many other people don't have this issue.

Well, stock Minecraft runs fine, no matter what I use.

Minecraft is still a processor reliant game. I'm not an expert on processors is your 4790K a lot better than your old FX-6100?

Have you tried playing with the settings of Minecraft? It's a long time ago I played Minecraft, so I might be wrong on the settings suggestions.

Maybe turn down render distance, or MSAA (Does it even have that?) and some other settings. Play around with it and see if you can find a difference.

Well, the 4790k should be massively overkill. It's quite a bit better than the fx-6100. I'll try playing with settings but it's just a bit odd, since the single threaded performance and the multi-threaded performance of the processor should be at the top.

Edit: It seems like it only happens when chunks load... but basically it's constant 60 fps and jumps down to 51-53 fps, with at least 1 or 2 frame drop that results in a stutter. I guess I can just take it as a poor optimization of the mod pack?
