I think it definitely was time for some change. Jony Ive and his team definitely worked hard on it, and put their mark on iOS. I think it is a great update, and am glad there was essentially the first revamp of iOS since the iphone came out.

It's like a trippy version of Android, with features android had for several years. I'd like to have some of whatever Jony Ive was doing was doing while designing this... those icons are pretty ugly though....
