Joy sticks

I was just wonder, does any use a joy stick for gaming, like this one for instance?

I just mainly want to know if they are easy to use and if I should get a gaming joy stick.

I would like to use for all games (FPS, racing, etc.), but if that is not possible/recommended I would use it on 'World of Warplanes' and games like that instead.

Help will be appreciated!  :)

Personally wouldn't use it for FPS. Racing and Flight simulator games though, would work well. May work well in Armored Kill (BF3). Might be a bit clunky for RPGs and other games.

Yeah like said, the only game I'll actually use a Joystick on would be space sims and flight sims. For racers you get a wheel or a controller and for FPS and RTS games, mouse is the way to go :P

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?

I've been using the same joystick since the mid 90s lol. Some of the buttons don't work anymore because there aren't drivers for it hahaha it makes flying vehicles much easier and I just map some things onto my keyboard if the bottoms for them are one of the ones that are dead

I believe some configuration is needed for the joystick in order for it to work well, if it's similar to my Logitech Wingman Force 3D. Definitely use it only for flight sim type games, suck at FPS and racing games. Keep the peripheral separate for different uses, that is: a controller for hack and slash type of games/RPGs, a steering wheel for racing sims, joystick for flight sims, and of course, the good old KB + mouse for FPS and 3PS. I have all these devices on my gaming desk area....
