Check for motherboard BIOS updates regarding DC (Devil's Canyon) compatibility. Go to ASrock's website and find the updates for your particular board.

Yes that's how the process goes, but you might want to flash your BIOS to the latest version first before putting the i7 in.

sorry, i had to.

Yeah that's against the CoC, in case you didn't know.

scrap that you're already on that bios if your running that CPU at the minute, yea just take out your old cpu put in your new one apply a little thermal paste *about a grain of rice in the center* put your cpu cooler back on * screw in the screws diagonally as not to warp the board* put them hand tight , and your done =) simples

1s to all, welcome to the forum new friend  ^_^

small questions

1) you plan use the old cooler on the new cpu ?

2) or you plan use the new cooler that come (if it come) with the new cpu ?

for 1) you will need buy also some "thermal paste" (the old one need be clean also)

and for 2) the new cpu cooler comes also with that thermal paste

so is just the step of changing the cpu and cooler

is easy, but you need be delicate also

after the change you just turn on the cpu and the OS will do the rest

(if i find a video i will add it here)  :ph34r:

(at 6:08 show the install process with thermal paste in case you need that)

(is also a cool video)  :lol:

(cool motherboard by the way)

APU = A10
