Overlap Screens/Desktops on Win 7

JustAnotherUser

Hey everyone,

I want to have a smaller 2nd monitor show a part of the main monitor. The main monitor is 1920x1080 and the small one is 1440x900.

I dont want to use a clone/mirror setup, because 1) this limits the resolution on the main monitor and 2) the desktop on the 2nd monitor is too small and I only want a small part of the main desktop anyway.

I have two monitors which you can see from different parts of the room. I want to see a part of the desktop on the small screen from afar. If I clone the output, the important bit is too small on the 2nd monitor. I will only work on the main screen anyway, I dont care about taskbar and so on.

I attached an example to clarify what i want.

On linux I could easily do this with the Xrandr tool. Do you guys have any ideas how to do this on Windows 7?

Thanks in advance!
