Far Cry 4 Mouse Acceleration

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of the mouse acceleration, I've tried setting smoothness etc to 0 in the xml but nothing seems to work.

 

I've tried getting my mouse sensitivity the same as it is on Far Cry 3, so I looked at a particular point on the wall, did a 360 then marked on some paper how far my mouse had traveled, did the same for Far Cry 4 but the sensitivity doesn't go far enough for me to do a 360 in the same mouse movement, yet even though on paper (quite literally) it's not as sensitive, it some how feels waaaaay more sensitive and out of control. I'm new to having a universal sensitivity, but because the aiming in this game feels so weird so I thought I'd try it, am I doing something wrong?

Just try to do a consistent movement in the game, once fast and once slow. if the two don't give the same result for mouse movement there is acceleration at play that will always make it feel weird.

You need to do more than that.

Find the XML file required in the 'My Documents/My Games/Farcry 4" directory

Find these values - make them all "0"

Like

 

MouseAcceleration="0"

MouseAccelerationOn="0"

UseMouseSmooth="0"

Smoothness="0"

Smoothness_Ironsight="0"

 

If you have severe stuttering, moving left to right, and in vehicles and such Find and Copy this: DisableLoadingMip0="1"

This isn't doing anything for me, my mouse movements are still VERY inconsistent depending on how fast I move my mouse.

Yep it's off. I've noticed that when setting it to 0 in the xml, when I go in game the slider is all the way to the right (on). So I'm wondering if maybe the xml isn't doing anything at all...

For some reason I'm starting to think that fix only works for Windows 7, since everyone who said that has worked so far is using W7...

 

Windows 8.1 here, and the severe mouse acc remains even if I set all those options to 0, Nearly unplayable, completely unenjoyable for me.

FTR - Yep I'm on W7 also.

I doubt they're gonna fix it though. FC3, Watch Dogs, AC series, they all have mouse acceleration. It's never been fixed. CoD series also have it. I guess they meant those games to be played with a controller and they don't want to grant PC gamers superior controls.

As of right now, I don't think it's fixable in 8.1.

 

I've just learned to live with it and turned down sensitivity. It's not a competitive, online twitch shooter like BF4, guys. I'm sure that you'll adjust to it even on Hard difficulty.

 

Having said that, I think that UBISOFT owes everyone apologies. First for disappointing us with the bore fest Watch Dogs and now this glitchy FC4 launch.
