Hey forum,

Today i was playing AC:Unity like every other day since the release date and everything was fine. I generally multitask on 1 monitor (Alt + Tab pleasant) but graphical glitches started to happen has soon as i hit chrome. I wasn't worrying too much about until at the bottom it said "Nvidia drivers stopped responding" or something similar. I press Alt + Tab to go back to Unity and i see that all the map went like on a scale of green to black.  I'm gonna attach the images in the topic. It never happened before apart from once in AC4: Black Flag but it was only in the map not in the actual 3D part of the game (Bottom left 2D map). I got a 780ti in september and had no problem since until now. Checked temps runs at about 65*C the gpu and 75*C the cpu (I7-4770k stock cooler).

Any solutions? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Added AC4 glitch screenshot

The sad truth is that some games are not ALT+Tab friendly (My experience with GTA 4)

ACU is incredibly buggy right now (especially with graphics), so the problem could just be with ACU not working well with multitasking... I don't play the game though, so this is speculation.

DSR sometimes causes issues in the games I play (Civ V, Metro 2033, GTA 4, and some more) so if you are using DSR you can try running the game in your monitor's native resolution.

Also, Chrome utilizes the GPU, especially if you are looking at large pictures or a video of any kind, so chances are that a texture or something could have been partially overwritten by chrome when you were browsing the web and not reloaded when you ALT+Tab back into ACU.

Those temps are more than fine; though for noise sake I would recommend ditching the intel stock cooler. You bought an overclockable CPU, so why not overclock it? ;P --off topic, that won't fix the issue, its just the intel stock coolers give me mini-heart attacks. They are free and get the job done though ;)

Your card is fine if this problem is with ACU exclusively. I would worry only if these issues happened frequently with many different games without using ALT+Tab.

Thanks for the info,

Now that i noticed i think even when AC4 glitched out i did Alt+Tab, I'm gonna look out with other games if anything similar appears but i just joined the PC Master Race (May 2014 with a GTX 760) so don't have many games to play. I'm planning to buy Far Cry 4 so i'm gonna try with that one.

Good luck! You can also try running furmark, 3dmark, unigine valley, unigine heaven, firestrike, or any other GPU benchmarking tool. These are free and will max out your gpu, and with 3Dmark you can compare the performance of your particular 780/CPU combo to other similarly spec'd rigs.
