Firefox lag issues

So I updated Firefox a couple days ago, and ever since I did I'm having a lot of problems with it.

It's laggy, unresponsive, tabs take forever to close, etc.

It also seems to be taking up a fair bit of RAM, exceeding 1.2gb when I only have around 12 tabs open.

I used to be able to have 50 or 60 tabs open through 6 or 7 windows without any issue. It was this reason that Firefox was my main browser, as Chrome will cause my system to crash and freeze a lot if I try to open that many.

Anyone else having issues like this?

Try a reboot. Not normal for this to happen. Maybe the pc needs a refresh then.

Try a reboot. Not normal for this to happen. Maybe the pc needs a refresh then.

Thing is I just restarted it before I updated. Went through, did the virus scan and spyware thing, etc.

Probably the first time it was rebooted in over a month.

It's taking up 1.2 GB.  How much ram do you have in your system?

4gb. It's an issue. It causes system slow downs, especially when I try to boot Hearthstone.

And no, closing all my tabs each time isn't really an option.

The solution is simple, you need more RAM.  How much ram is your system using with 12 tab Firefox + Hearthstone?

Max. Enough that I can't safely Alt Tab out to Windows without it crashing or going so slow that I grow impatient.

At least, I assume it would. That's what it would do with Chrome, and they're starting to consume the same amount of resources.

More RAM is not a possibility, unfortunately.
