Pros: Best card currently available, especially for 1440p or 120hz 1080p

 

Cons: for 1080p 60fps gaming a 970 is WAYYYYY more cost effective

I just recently got this card. Haven't done any overclocking yet, but it seems to be a great card overall.

I agree go with two 970 will be better than on 980 and not cost that much more.

Go with a GTX 970 no matter what. Almost same performance but way more bang for the buck.

yes and the 970's would give you a 60-70 percent performance gain over a 980 in real world with bad scaling which wil improve in future driver revisions to possibly 70-80%

There are often games (usually badly optimized ones) where the GTX 970 performs almost the same as it's bigger brother. I'd get the 970 just for cost effectiveness. If you want the absolute maximu, the 980 is of course no stupid choice but not the most effective. ;)
