So I have an old laptop (PC) that i want to kill. Is it possible to overclock it to death? What software would you recommend? I want to make this thing unbootable/usable.

Thanks!

why would you want to do that?

It's difficult to OC some laptops since they'll be locked from the factory. Also, computers tend to have thermal shutoffs so it's difficult to overheat it.

If you want to make it unbootable, you could always shove a knife into a hole somewhere, or short it out with some high voltage wire. Running Prime 95 on it while it's on a carpet or something could help.

It's rather wasteful, though. If you can, you should find somewhere to donate it to, or someone that needs it more than you - a school perhaps? IT students might learn something by poking around inside of it.

Get into the bios and over volt the shit out of it. If it's possible.

^ Over volt change the BLCK to like 200mhz and overclock it to 10ghz.

Doubt it'll ever be usuable again.

All that would do it brick the laptops bios. the second it would try to turn on it would immediately be shut off by the instabilities. The hardware would be fine
