Well the xbox one will cost $499, €499 and £429.

 

Microsoft announced it at their E3 press conference.

 

That is more expensive then the PS3 was on release and people thought that was very expensive.

No. Shipping has nothing to do with it, shipping costs less than 2% of the price of the product, that price is just money grabbing!

Shipping has got nothing to do with it; it isn't like the stuff is manufactured in USA. They price it that way because they can.

This. After the launch there was like a 3% chance I might grab it, but now? Hell freaking no! 

And I would laugh my butt off when Sony now goes and charges less for the PS4, which is actually pretty realistic, considering the overall manufacturing costs have been significantly reduced.

getting a new piece of any tech at launch is expensive, got it 6 months and the prices will come down.  Even though I have a xbox 360 am playing less and less games on it and more on the pc, soon I will have Haswell power and a new GTX 770 GPU to play may games ;)

I'll most definitely be buying a PlayStation 4 first. An Xbox One will come later only if it comes down to an acceptable price point...

Depending on now Nintendo Direct goes.. I might end up with a PS4 + WiiU. Buying a XBox One is idiotic at best, due to lack of features if you are not in the U.S, and all the DRM b.s, and of course high price tag.
