Computer Slowed down drastically. Need help.

What's going on guys?

I installed CoD AW a few days ago, and my 3000 dollar setup turned into mush. It can barely run a Linus video, and League of legends went from a butter smooth 180+ FPS to barely being able to run Peasant FPS. All antivirus scans I run are coming up negative. My CPU is often at 100% usage despite having only a browser running. What could this be due to?

Specs:

Intel Core I7 2600k

XFX HD 7970

10BG RAM

1100W PSU

Check temps. Run antivirus. Re-install Windows (if need be).

Lather, rinse repeat.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Download and run Malwarebytes, CCleaner. Use CCleaner to clean up your registry, and clear out cache and useless files. Also make sure your startup list isn't full of crap. Also, Google Chrome is a resource hog on any system.

I have over a TB of Steam games installed. This is the LAST option on my list xD

Download RealTemp and see what it says. Take screenshots if possible too.

Obviously run MBAM and Avast or AVG or whatever antivirus you have.

System restore although this might not work in your favor any more/less than a full Windows re-install....

Ran MBAM and it's 100% clean

FUCK! I think I know what it is, I opened up to dust a few days ago and had to take off my cpu cooler to take off my radiator fans and I think I smeared the thermal paste. Could this be it?

Also CPU temp is 96-99C

Dude. Yu might have a RAT (Remote Administration Tool) placed on your pc and could possibly be mining for someone. Check your processes for anything unusual along with system resources. This could really pose an issue if that is the case.

Not sure. Might want to check just in case. Also most well made rats run FUD (Fully undetectable), so MBAM won't pick up anything

Did you pirate the game? If you did, you did it wrong because i got a clean copy. (to promptly un install because no Crossfire support)

What is SlimDrivers?  Seems like one of the scam driver downloads.

I did not see that.

SlimDrivers is infact a fake updater. You will never need one, so don't use them.

OP, show us your task tray please.

Yeah, that's not normal... Your 2600K is throttling to prevent cooking itself to death. I'd redo your thermal paste and double check that it's mounted secure. As for the 100% CPU load, download process explorer to see which process is loading up your CPU.
