I want to say that there's a legal reason for that, id probably be wrong though

They once tried to charge me 400 dollars for going from 12gb to 16gb of ram on a alienware desktop as a joke buy

A real shame that RAM pricing never went down. Eh, I managed to get my RAM (in signature) for $74 since it was on sale.
