If you haven't used a Gentle Typhoon before, you don't understand.

 

The force of air they push at low RPMs is ridiculous. And they are as close to silent as a fan can get.

 

If you feel the frame of the fan at 1850RPM, there is no vibration in the frame. The only noise you get is air flow noise. Insane.

Gentle typhoons outperform NF-F12's by a decent margin, NF-F12 are not better in anyway except the accessories that come with, and the warranty.

 

I've had both Gentle Typhoons and NF-F12, and I can definitely say the GT's cooled better while being quieter, as confirmed by the tests below:
