I moved my desk setup from the main floor of my house to my room which is on the second floor. I was able to get a strong wireless connection when I moved up here on both my mobile devices and my laptop. Now it is super slow. Youtube is slow, sometimes my connection drops while gaming, and this just sucks in general.

I have AT&T U-Verse. I can't run an ethernet cable to my room. My connection speed went from 1.5-1.8 MB/s to 50-250 KB/s download.

EDIT: I have had an AT&T supplied G router throughout all of this. My dad bought a netgear N router and it has increased the range and strength of the signal throughout the house but it's still the same super crappy stuff in my room.

If you moved it above an area with brick/metal/plaster inbetween your desk and the router, this will cause these problems.

Yeah there's some duct work between me and the router. The weird thing is that the signal was strong when I first moved. Now it has slowed down a lot. Same place. No change.

Hmm, you already reset the router and modem to clear the cache right?

If u mean unplugging the power cable, waiting a few minutes, and then plugging it back in, yes.

Haha yeah that, if you did that on both then you could see if there is a loose connection somewhere, maybe the coaxial cable or something. Or you could possibly call your service provider and see if they can refresh the modem from their side, I have done this before and it occasionally helps.

I'll look into that. The thing is, everywhere else in my house has a strong connection. My room DID too, but now it just doesn't...

Anything changed in the house layout recently? Anything metal or electromagnetic radiation-emitting e.g. cordless phones?

Nope
