Need help with general math.

So, lets say the formula for power on a capacitor is:

Wc = 1/2 * C * U2

Its easy to calculate, easy to do.

But, HOW much is C when i have U and Wc? How do i get that formula?
How much is U when i have C and Wc?

Please help, im stuck, always on this stupid thing.

2Wc divided by U2

Just a matter of getting C on one side of the equation by itself.

Edit:

Unless the 1/2 is only used with C and not C and U2.

Then you would end up with 2Wc divided by 2U2

Just remember, what you do to one side of the equation, you must do the same to the other.

Edit:

I'll put in a snip of a Word document so you have a visual representation and working.

And when i need U2 then its 2Wc/C?

It's so easy...

You just take the things you don't need to the other side.

Wc= 1/2 * c * u^2

Wc/(1/2*u^2) = c

WC/1/2 = 2WC

so :

2WC/u^2 = c

U = sqrt(2WC/C)

Thank you so much! So much screwed up caclculations based on stupid formulas and me messing stuff up...

Yes, but you'd have to square root the 2Wc/C to get the value of U, instead of U x U.

Just like to ask, is the 'x 1/2' only for the C or the U2 as well?

1/2 is only for C

-erm, I think I went full derp again-

Sorry I took so long, Imgur was being a derp.

1/2 is only for C

Than it's all g, Idk why but I think I went full derp there, having the 1/2 with the C exclusively, or with both the C and U2 wouldn't change anything lol.
