Is everything plugged in correctly?

Try with only one stick of ram, integrated graphics (if applicable), and only one drive.

Do any fans spin up? any lights come on?

That sounds like the problem right here =P

I think "hooked on" means the plastic latch on the connector isn't locked (correct me if I'm wrong). That shouldn't be a major issue though.

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.

Are your fans spinning the t*ts outta themselves? If so, just jam the 24 Pin in and tape it down. That or replace the PSU.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

I do not know how to check that. There is no movement in anything.

PSU's have fans. They should spin unless it's a high end one where the fan only runs under load.

It's a Corsair CX750M

Well, hm..

Again, is everything plugged in? That's a good PSU, yet it does run the fan under even the slightest load. So it should be making noise, meaning I think you got a dead PSU.

Well, going to get another PSU now, just to be sure

K, report back when you can. Also, if using a low wattage PSU, take the GPU out just to make sure you aren't overpowering the PSU.

Its a really old PSU, I connected the 24pin, removed the GPU and connected another cable i heave no idea what you would call. Cant connect any others, because its so out of date. Still nothing happens, but i do no know it something should,, because of the lack fo cables connected. Also tried to start the computer through motherboard with a key, just in case there was something wrong with that cable

Sounds dumb but perhaps is th cable used to plug the PSU into the wall socket dead? I've never personally had it happen but you might as well check.

It's not that. But should something start with only the 24pin plugged in ?

Did you plug the 4 PIN CPU thing in? Also, the fans need somewhere to plug in as well.

Things to check ;) :-

  1. Wall Socket
  2. PSU Switch is ON
  3. PSU Cables
  4. PSU Cables in 24 Pin and CPU 2/4/6/8Pin Socket
  5. Lights on the MB like a green LED
  6. PSU Fan spins
  7. The Front Panel Pins are on incorrect (Try jump starting it)

On the MB there is an 8pin for the CPU, but the new PSU only has a single 4 pin

Can you take a few pics of everything in your build please?

On the MB there is an 8pin for the CPU, but the new PSU only has a single 4 pin

You need 8 Pins for it, 4 pins= half the power etc

Try to plug in 2x4 pins

Check if the PSU came with a 8 pin ot 4+4 ping or a 6+2 pin

If not you may have to buy 8 pin connector lead like http://www.amazon.co.uk/Akasa-AK-CBPW08-40BK-Flexa-ATX12V-Extension/dp/B004ZKXUS0

Or a Molex to 8 Pin connector like http://www.amazon.co.uk/PIN-POWER-CONNECTOR-CABLE-30cm/dp/B002CZ5AEM/ref=sr_1_6?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1415747245&sr=1-6&keywords=molex+to+8+pin
