Leave it there for hours just in case.

I had a single machine.. (not happened since) but I would click "Install Windows" on my W7 disc, and it would sit there for AGES, like over an hour, then worked fine.

^Did this on the only three installs it ever had.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Do some troubleshooting such as using memtest86+ to test your RAM for faults. Use some sort of bootable utility like seatools for DOS to check the drive.

i did set my ram with xmp to 2400, will it help if i turn it down to the default 1333?

Bit weird...the black screen bit...Take out your dedicated GPU, use onboard video outputs and retry installing?

Maybe the dedicated GPU has issues

Go into the UEFI and find the button that resets everything to default.  Maybe there's something set somewhere that's causing the issue.

i updated the BIOS and am gonna see if that worked, i only changed the cpu voltage because the board decided it was a good idea to send 1.4 volts into it

Yep, if you do that though, MAKE SURE in the bios, your using Onboard/CPU graphics and not PCIE/Dedicated, and of course swap the cables from the dedicated card to the onboard outputs.

And if it works, and you install windows, and then put your dedicated card back and this happens again or other graphical anomolies, RMA your card.

Not all things fail instantly even if actually broken, remember these cards have heat output that fills your case, pooling hot air, it's normal for it to get warmer as time goes on, and with a defunct product it can be 5mins to an hour, or more before you may see issues.

It could take that 5 mins to fail because when first booted, it's cold.

I hope you can install Windows using onboard, then you can test the dedicated moreso, and then RMA if problems.

Edit - 3am, time for bed, hope you get it sorted matey. I'm sure others can provide advice if you need it.
