For the US folks on the forum, what do you do for black Friday, and what are you getting?

I find that most of what I want can be had online, and zero reason to stand in line anymore. Screw this Thursday evening crap - I'm with family, eating turkey and playing card games. Basically, I just signed up for a 30-day trial of newegg premier (read: newegg's amazon prime), and have a list of items and "if its below this price, buy it - essentially I took the lowest I have seen similar items go for, and subtracted a reasonable amount". Figure I'm good to go.

My other tradition is to drive around and take pictures of all the strange people standing in front of best buy at 10pm on thursday in the rain to buy $120 no-name TVs.

This year I am getting:

1. New laptop for my Girlfriend.

2. 2-Bay NAS + 2x2TB NAS drives

3. A couple of dirt cheap 120GB SSDs.

4. Some fans and a CPU cooler for my existing NAS.

5. Cheap mATX case.

6. Bilstein HD Shocks and Struts for my Car. (Or Koni Yellow Sports)

7. Transmission mount for my car.

8. 27" 1440p monitor if one goes on sale.

9. Any Blue-Ray boxed sets of LOTR + The Hobbit Extended for christmas gifts.

10. New Watercooling reservoir.

I might go drive to Frys/Microcenter with some friends to buy cheap USB cables just to hang out.

I'm think i'm gonna do the same thing last year; going to staples.......there were only like 30 people in the store.......

I tend to run into Portland people all the time on here.

I for one will be staying away from Fry's as it is not worth it to me.

Last year I managed to snag some great deals on Amazon as they release things periodically throughout the day.

I don't really need anything so I CBF going out...

FWIW, stay away from Woodburn, it is not worth it!  :P

Oh yeah, Staples.

So, 4 years ago I went to the local shopping center, they have a bestbuy and staples. Bestbuy had a line at 10AM still, and had sold out of the items I was looking for. I walk into staples, and buy the exact same items that were the immediately sold out items at best buy. Zero lines, and $10 cheaper. ::shrugs::

I stay away from malls and outlets like the plague. Woodburn sounds dangerous from what I've heard too....

I'm in Portland, so, fry's is about the furthest south I'm going to go - if i go...

Oh, and Hi Neighbor! Same here, a couple dozen in the past few weeks on here.

Fry's is the only good computer store here, CompUSA is gone.........

As far as an all-around electronics store, yeah, Fry's is about it. The cost in gas though kinda makes it not a good option for me. Also, have had quite a few people have issues with hardware purchased from them. Strangely it was always stuff on sale for ridiculously low prices.....hmm.

I personally shop at ENU down by the airport for local components purchases, or have Best buy pricematch amazon for everything else. ENU is more expensive, but it's locally owned and I've never had an issue.

Microsoft Store Downtown...

Uhhh SW 3rd and SW Yamhill?

Oh cool. No, probably not, unless some of my "clanmates" end up going or they release for PC as well.

Sorry Man.... Getting paid OT?

I get holiday pay on that day and Christmas eve.

It's not much but it's a plus. Me being Supervisor makes it worse. :(

They run me ragged.

And the customers :o

They're so ruthless....
