Not bad but the Logitech DFGT have better Force Feedback and 900 degree wheel rotation, not to mention the reliability is top notch.

::Editted::

Just noticed the 458 Wheel don't have FFB, you don't want that.

+1 for Logitech driving force GT.

I have one I used to use with Gran Tourismo 4 on PS2 (yeah, that old) and it still works pretty good. That should tell you how good Logitech's reliability is with their force feedback wheels. And I've used this wheel A LOT!

I'm hoping to upgrading to a GT27 some time very soon. If you can get a GT27 at a decent price, second hand, it's totally worth it. You get 3 pedals (gas, brake, clutch) 6 speed gated shifter, F1 style sifters (the paddles on the wheel), dual FF motors and helical gear drive (for smooth and quiet operation). The GT27 is by far the best FF racing sim gaming wheel for the price.

The GT27 costs almost 2.5 times as that of driving force. I have decided to go with Driving Force GT as it is the most better choice for my budget.

So Driving Force is my choice and I am gonna order it tomorrow. Also would it be nice to get along with a gamepad or just not ? I haven't had much in depth experiences of both worlds and I play on Keyboard for like from younger ages uopward. Thanks for replies and suggestions.

I didn't notice the budget he mentioned, but the steering wheel you mentioned will probably cost a whole car.

I think so. lol

Save up any buy a G27 when you can. It's that much better, trust us.

A racing wheel isn't something you buy new every year, so it's worth waiting a couple more months and buying a far superior device.

My case is different. I am just 15 and all the money is from my Dad. I have money to buy G27 with me but there are kinda old and doesn't know much about all this technology and they find it a waste to spend money on these things. Anyways I will most probably buy GT but I will try for a G27.

Go and read the reviews, none of them are "new" but that's my point, you can't really innovate with a whell (pun intended). The G27 is being produces for years now without major redesigns because you can't really improve it. I don't see a new model coming in the next few years, so why settle for something worse if you can buy the best?

I was 15 once as well, and I saved up money from my allowance, and worked summerjobs to buy components for myself.

What are the major differences between my choice and a G27 ? Does that differences impact heavily to justify its price ? I have no experience with both of these.

What are the major differences between my choice and a G27 ? Does that differences impact heavily to justify its price ? I have no experience with both of these.

There are HUGE differences between the driving force GT and G27. First and foremost is quality in the design.

The driving force wheel only has one motor with straight-cut gears (noisier, rougher movements) (also gives you weaker force feedback) and only has gas and brake pedals with paddle shifters on the wheel. It's all mostly made of plastic and just lower quality overall.

The G27 has dual motors with helical gears (cut on angles) for much quieter and smoother feel and movements (will also give you stronger force feedback). It has paddle shifters on the wheel as well but they are made of aluminum. The G27 also has gas, brake AND clutch pedals (again, made of aluminum instead of plastic as well as stronger springs and better feel) with a full 6-speed gated shifter assembly (like a real manual transmission). Everything about the G27 is of much higher quality and better designed. If you're only 15, it would be good for teaching you how to drive a car with a manual transmission (if you don't know already).

The higher price of the G27 is definitely justified and worth it extra cost over the driving force wheel, for the better quality and features. Considering the G27's price compared to other wheels made by other companies that compete with it (like Fanatec) the G27 is actually really well priced.

The driving force is fine for some one who isn't too serious about racing sims and won't use it much. The G27 will definitely give you a far better experience and make you want to play/race all day, every day. ;)
