The audio technica ath-m20xs are really nice for the price, I have a pair and use them every day on the bus to school, and when recording videos.

They isolate sound decently, are quite comfortable, sound great, look good, don't feel like they are going to break easily despite being made mostly of plastic. (The headband contains metal), the earcups can flip to face outwards, and pivot slightly.

I've heard some great things about them for the price.

More bass oriented.

I have no clue, I've never used the hyperx cloud, though I've heard they are very very comfortable and well liked.

OK i am going to tell you a secret. Today almost every major company products are manufactured in China. So why not buy directly from the place they are made, even before they are brended and then become expencive?  On aliexpress you can do that ( i'am not promoting aliexptess or something). Here you go

My goal here: buy me one :)

I have the JVC Xtreme Explosives model Ham55X, they have amazing bass for dubstep, rap, hip-hop, or any other type of electronic music. They have 50mm speakers, it is quite comfortable but they are big, very big. If you wanna look like a dj they are great for you, they come in black with red or a glossy white and red. I have had them for 3 months and they are quite durable and made of plastic. Get the white ones because the black pair is a fingerprint magnet.

Get something from superlux.

^THIS^

My personal recommendations are the HD660, HD631 (bass-heavy), and the HD330 (same as the HD 660, but this one is open)...

Edit: Amazon screwed with the prices of these so find another site...

Should I get the 681 evo or dynamic? Or 668? The numbers are a little confusing

I will personally be getting the Superlux HD-681 EVO when I can because it meets my requirements:

  • open back
  • lightweight (9.3oz - HD-681 is 8.3oz)
  • it's under $50.00 (i'm on a really tight budget)
  • circumaural (can be worn with glasses without hassle)
  • reviews indicate excellent bang-for-buck at price range
  • comfortable for long gaming/listening sessions (come with velour pads)

It seems that the biggest complaint that I've read around the web for HD-668b and HD-681 is that they're too bright and treble should be brought down in EQ.

From their website:

http://avlex.com/products/hd-681evo/

"the HD-681EVO features new, slender updated styling and an improved smoother treble frequency response."

It looks like the treble issue has been addressed with the "EVO" (the next "evolution" in that headphone line).

The 668B's. They are Logan and I's favorite.

Would you trust this face?

Here's a couple videos

So far, I haven't found any reviews comparing the HD-681/668b directly against the HD-681 EVO. If I had to decide between just the HD-681 and HD-668b I would take Logan's recommendation too.

At this point in the video Logan says once you get some money you can add velour ear pads to the Superlux 668B headphones. What kinda options are there to get online? He says the stock pads can be replaced with AKG pads as if that's a earpad socket code standard. When I looked this up I found these that appear to be compatible. There are positive reviews for the $6-10 Cosmos ear pads sold on Amazon being compatible with 668Bs, but how do those compare to other ones found online?

As an American, what would my options be if I wanted to replace the stock headphone pads of the 668B? Are all these the same including what's in TekSyndicate's video; what's the difference? (They'd have to be different though).

Check out my last post. Did you ever put aftermarket pads on them? Velour Pads or something?

Hi guys, are these headphones worth the price?

PHILIPS CitiScape UPTOWN SHL5915, i found them at 40€, would they be good for gaming aswell? since they have a mic?

According to American amazon.com it's been discointinued. The price looks a lot better on that store page than on Amazon. Check out the reviews there I suppose. With so many headphones getting called out as bad or being recommended I'd look toward what else has been mentioned than bring up a discontinued product.

The cityscape lineup is good, but they're really designed to be for portable use, not gaming at home. Open headphones are still better for that purpose.
