Power Supply Efficiency, Heat Energy

Hi I have a 1000 watt platinum rated power supply. I am wondering if it will output about 900 watts of heat. If not how much

Heat is not measured in watts.

No. 

 

Watts are Joules per second.   

 

Efficiency is IMA/AMA (Ideal divided by actual)

 

If it is at 90% (Efficiency) and using 1000W. Then it will output 1000W but draw 1100W from the wall.

Keep in mind that you need to be pulling half of what that power supply is capable of in order for it to be 92% efficient. 20% load is 90% efficiency and 100% load is 89% efficiency.
