Reddit /r/random time!

So for a long time I have been wanting to find new subreddits on Reddit.com and review them. So here it goes!

 

Here are the rules:

 

1. Subreddit must be random

2. Must stay on it for more than 5 minutes

3. Can use other resources to help explain.

4. No more than one review a day.

 

Here it goes! The first random subreddit is.... /r/videogamedunkey!

 

At first glance, it seems to be completely random and broken down, but after checking out the top posts its about a youtuber!

 

Videogamedunkey appears to be a well known video producer that makes satire videos (At least unknown by me).

 

Back to the subreddit, many top posts have one upvote, and some with over 30. Over 1800 people have used the subreddit. Most of the main posts are links to new videos by Dunkey. Other posts must be inside jokes, because I really don't understand them.

Alright so, a background of the subject is music theory, which is mainly just the study of sound in music (I know this is a bad definition, but that's basically what it is).

 

The sub is mainly about asking and receiving questions, or gaining and spreading knowledge. It appears people know a lot about this subject and are very dedicated. Somewhat active with posts averaging a few votes or over 30. They almost have over 40,000 readers, which is quite a lot for something most people cannot understand. Top posts include very high level theory and cannot be understood by the average passer.

 

Overall I would say the subreddit is good and is interesting how many people care about it.
