Hey guys I am wondering when Broadwell-k will release, want to know mainly about the unlocked mainstream flagship i7 (5770k)

I know it is just a die shrink and will hardly improve performance at all over the existing 4790k, I am just curious to know when they will come out.

Thanks!

Q4 2014 you say? We are well into that. Maybe I should buy a temporary CPU for the PC I am building? Like that sexy unlocked pentium, I feel like waiting now since I would get pretty mad if I bought a $400 CPU and a month later a updated version came out.

If you want to buy the Pentium go for it. Otherwise it's up to you whether you wait or not. Like you said, it's a die shrink aka a tick, the performance and efficiency advancement come with the tock. It makes more sense to buy CPU's on the tock.  I'm aiming to make my 4790K by the end of January, won't lose any sleep over not having the Broadwell in it if it's not out by then, plus the performance difference won't be a lot.

I probably will lose sleep, I'll turn into Slick if I don't have the latest and greatest.
