I have an FX 6300 and when i oc the northridge or just change the multiplier when I go back to Windows environment on CPU-z shows at multiplier (7-20,5) and the clock speeds drop down(the more I oc the more it drop down) when I OC at 4GHz when i run prime 95 from 4ghz it drops to 3ghz and then goes again 4ghz and then again 3ghz this happen all the time.Plus that when I open my PC it try to start one time then turn off and then turn on again.

Is Turbo Boost enabled?

What's the temps like? it might be that it's underclocking itself to lower temps if it finds itself running too hot.

Remember to be a good citizen and choose a 'best answer' when your problem has been resolved!

I'd start over, load defaults, read MORE online guides just in case you missed something vital.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
