This past summer I built my first desktop, so far I've been extremely happy with it, just wondering what you guys think I could possibly do to spruce it up, I'm thinking CPU : 3?

CPU: AMD FX-4100, OC'ed to 4.2Ghz at 1.3v (standard clock is 3.6Ghz)

Motherboard: Asus M5A97 EVO

Memory: 8BG @ 2133mhz

Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480.

Storage: 120gig Agility 3 SSD for OS and Gaming, w/ a 1TB Seagate 7200rpm drive for random stuffs.

Power Supply: Rosewill 650W bronze certified.

Wrap it all up in a Corsair C70 with a H60 slapped onto the cpu and that's my baby. Been running like a champ for a year or so now.

I was thinking perhaps an upgrade to one of the new AM3+ socket CPU's, like the 8350. Maybe grab another SSD and run it in a raid format? Just ideas. Not looking to upgrade the 480 yet, don't really see anything that will REALLY improve upon it while remaining worthwhile cost-wise. Thanks guys!

I think your rig is perfectly fine as long as you're happy. If you really want to spice it up a bit, getting a higher end AMD processor and a more recent graphics card would probably help it a lot.

I'm guessing your talking about raid 0? Yeah, SSD's don't generally need that. You won't notice a real world difference and reliability will decrease.

+1 on the RAID setup.... RAID0 just not required.... If you need to upgrade, go for the CPU....

Another +1 on RAIDing SSDs. It only helps in benchmarks, it pretty much hates TRIM (unless your on Z77 w/ 11.6 or 11.7 RST or used modified drivers). Don't RAID SSDs...

Upgrade the CPU to the 8350. http://www.anandtech.com/show/6396/the-vishera-review-amd-fx8350-fx8320-fx6300-and-fx4300-tested/5

The 4100 performs a tiny bit worse than the 8150, so there will be a noticeable difference on CPU dependent games.
