PC mic on XB1 help

So i have a PC mic which is 3.5mm and has 2 bands on it. I want to hook it up to my xbox one chat adapter but idk what i need to do so.

 

I only want to chat with the mic i have my headphones hooked up to my DSS2.

From what I have seen on youtube and heard from other people, that cable allows you to use any headphone and microphone combination on the xbox one; with the headset adaptor of course. I will be picking one up myself soon, as I am not interested in buying a second headset just for the X1. The cable was designed to work on mobile phones I believe, and from what I understand the X1 headset adaptor uses the same type of 3.5mm connector found on smartphones and tablets.
