How much Watts do I need?

I am going to build my first gaming pc but I am stressing so much about how much watts I need for the power supply.

550W would be enough if you're not planning on overclocking/SLI in the future, 750-ish watts if you are going to throw in a second GTX970 later.

Any unknown button should be pressed even number of times.

500-700 watts range , 550watts should be sufficient but going higher isn't gonna hurt either..

 

Recommendations : SILVERSTONE ST55F-G 550W ATX (gold certification) or a SILVERSTONE Nightjar NJ520 520W platinium

500Watts-700Watts but the higher the better its not gonna hurt, mate!

550 would be more than enough unless you intended to get a second GPU.

However, you don't need a z97 board if you're using the non-k skew of chips. You could get away with a H97 board and a few more bucks in your pocket :P 

If that board has features you want, however, then go for it!

Remember to be a good citizen and choose a 'best answer' when your problem has been resolved!

(that way people know when a problem's been resolved)

around 550w but i would get a min of 650w to be sure and for overclocking

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.
