My CPU (i7-4790K) is completely overheating, and I cannot understand why. I have a Noctua NH-U12P cooler, and the correct thermal compound, but my CPU is 80 Celsius at idle, and bottlenecks while gaming because it hits 100 Celsius.

What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like the coolers isnt mounted properly, I had the same issue and my load temps went from 70- 53 (yes was liquid cooling, but was because it wasnt mounted properly)

have you take the cooler off, re applied the thermal paste and put it back on?

Not yet.

Do it and let us know if it fixes the problem, if you dont have thermal past on hand try tighten the mounting screws a bit

The 4790k had some quite hot batches so you might be one of those unlucky guys. Try out all your options before thinking it's a chip problem, although it's possible.

I am in bios, and my voltage is 1.792!!!

I can't change it, what to do?

Change it. Yes, it can be done. Use + and - keys or put voltage manually by numbers.
