Build for games to come!

Hey!

Im looking to create a new gaming pc like everyone else. I've done a little bit of research but I know everyone here will know better :) . My budget is £1000 but I can maybe extend it too £1200 max (sorry if the currecy being GDP creates hastle. I'll be using the computer for mainly gaming for the newer gen games on the way such as The Witcher 3, DragonAge Inqusition. However I would like to be able to play these on a higher quality if possible.  The only other thing is that I have knowlege of Intel/Nvidia but not of AMD.

I do not plan on overclocking as hopefully the parts wont need it. Ive looked at chassis and I really like the NZXT H440 in red and black. I've also found this deal on SCAN which a friend has recommended but i would like to know what you guys think (http://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus-strix-gtx-970-direct-cuii-oc-z97-maximus-vii-ranger-motherboard-bundle). Peripherals I would only need a monitor.

Thank you everyone for the help and contrtibutions!

If you are not overclocking don't bother with a Ranger get a H97 board like this http://www.scan.co.uk/products/msi-h97-gaming-3-intel-h97-s1150-ddr3-pcie-30-(x16)-2-way-crossfirex-displayport-hdmi-atx and a non K intel processor, should save you some money for a 980, also Evga 750G2 for PSU would be by recommendation, stock cooler would be fine for a non K CPU

Intel Core i5 4690K @ 4.2Ghz | Evga GTX 780 Ti SC ACX with backplate | MSI Gaming 9 AC | 8GB (2x4) Corsair Vengeance Pro Silver 2400 MHz | Corsair H105 128GB Crucial MX100 | Toshiba 2TB | Evga 750G2 | Corsair Obsidian 750d | Be Quiet Silent Wings 2 PWM (3x140mm & 3x120mm)

My real question is why not overclock when you have a £1000-1200 budget?

100 pounds too cool down a locked CPU, 1333MHz memory frequency, such a huge and expensive case for such a limited budget build.

If you save some money with the CPU cooler and case you might be able to get more SSD space or even a better graphics card.

Storage: Samsung 840 EVO | PSU: CM Silent Pro 720W | Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe | Headset: Corsair Vengeance 2100 | Keyboard: Logitech G710+ | Mouse: Razer DeathAdder Chroma

My knowlege of overclocking isn't much. as far as i know it decreases the life of the parts for a small boost? Does it really need it?

Thanks :)

well it can decrease the life of parts however it will still last a few years plus if you overclock you can get more fps in games which is always worth it

CPU: i7 8700k Motherboard: MSI Z370 Krait Gaming RAM: 4x 8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro (2 white, 2 black) GPU: MSI RTX 2070 Armor Case: Corsair Crystal 570x White HDD: 2x 2TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm Sata 3 SSD: 240GB Corsair Force 3 + 500GB Samsung 970 Evo Cooling: Corsair Hydro Series™ H150i PSU: Corsair RM750i OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit

Well, you could squeeze in 1600 MHz ram or 1866 mhz

Whether you want to overclock or not, it's always good to have an unlocked CPU to, at least, play around if you ever want to.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  (£167.50 @ Amazon UK)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler  (£23.82 @ CCL Computers)
Motherboard: Asus Z97-A ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  (£106.19 @ Aria PC)
Storage: Crucial MX100 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  (£75.54 @ Aria PC)
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 4GB WINDFORCE Video Card  (£470.38 @ Scan.co.uk)
Case: NZXT S340 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case  (£54.95 @ Scan.co.uk)
Monitor: Asus VE248H 24.0" Monitor  (£140.94 @ CCL Computers)
Total: £1213.38

If 1200 pounds is too much, just swap the GTX 980 for a GTX 970 and get the H440 you want and more storage, perhaps... though, for the best "futureproofing", getting a 980 would be optimal. Hope it helps.
