How much watts do I need?

Zinqs

I am going to be installing two nvidia geforce gtx 980's into my computer. Should the corsair ax860i (860W PSU) be enough watts or do i need more?

860 will be more than enough; even 750w would be more than enough.

/If you didn't already buy the AX860i, then you should consider the EVGA G2 750w as it's cheaper and more than enough.

I'm not denying that; its an amazing psu....but I don't really see it being worthwhile over something like a G2, which is significantly cheaper. The Ax860i is like 1% more efficient, a bit shorter, and comes with a "puny" (lol) 7-year warranty.

Cheap is not always good... what certification level is it? Is it modular?

Gold and fully modular, I regret not buying an EVGA Power supply when I could instead of my CX430M

980 + 1080p Gsync monitor > 2x980

IMO

but if you got the money for 3 G-sync monitors and 2x 980 go for it
