Compatibility Motherboard and PSU

On the motherboard manufacturer-site is a list of recommended Powersupplies, however I want to use a different (lower wattage) psu.

They both have the same essential cables and connectors.

Is it wise to go with a non recommended powersupply?

They are both from the same manufacturer.

The case.

Mobo : MSI Z97 PC MATE

PSU 1: Seasonic S12II 430W

PSU 2: Seasonic S12II 620W

Huge thanks from the Netherlands  :)

The point is that you need to have enough wattage to power your entire system. Both the motherboard and PSU abide by ATX standards, so don't worry about compatibility. What are the rest of your specs?

What are the rest of the components? Wattage is calculated by the Processor, GPU and other components.

As far as the PSU and compatibility, that is almost never an issue these days. As long as its not a giant 1200W PSU in an mITX case, or you are using a non-standard mITX case, you should be fine.
