Alright guys, I just finished my build and I'm attempting to download windows 7. Unfortunately when I post and insert the disk nothing happens. I have made sure to set my priority to the cd-rom, the system is stable and did post. Why does nothing happen when I insert my disk and reboot the system? Thanks in advance for the help!

Try selecting your drive in Boot Override.

Make sure you have made the install disk right, unless you directly bought it from a store and know it should work. Also make sure that the cd drive is the first boot priority.

This is my opinion, it doesn't mean I'm right and is liable to change at any time. I may offend of which I apologize in advance.

also make sure that your cd drive has power and is connected to your sata port. Then if this doesn't work try to boot off of a usb stick of linux. If this works then we know that your system is stable and it could be the windows install disk or your disk drive. If you cannot get the drive to work but you can get the usb to boot, there is a way to put windows onto a usb flash drive to install from.

Let me know what you find out so that we can help you.

It goes to a black screen and says insert media or proper boot drive and the media had been inserted along with the proper boot drive

Does boot options menu have several entries for drive? If so, try each of them one by one. Also check that BIOS can see your drive.
