Moving case with after market fan installed

Spev

So I'm installing a NH-U14s from Noctua tomorrow. I've been using liquid cooling for 4 years now, so this is new. My question is (damn this thing is heavy) should I move my case with the fan installed? Do I need to be careful? Or is this so solid to my motherboard I don't need to worry about it? It's pretty big and heavy, I'm not used to air coolers so I want to make sure I don't snap my MOBO in half or something lol.

Just handle your PC gently and you (assuming) always do.

I used to use an NHD14 and my PC took a ride in the back seat of a car when moving to the new place.

You shouldn't have any problems, Noctua has really good mounting hardware and the bracket is pretty sturdy. As long as you handle it carefully it should be fine.

yesterday's weirdness is tomorrow's reason why

Depends on which kind of moving you're doing. Inside your house? sure, you're fine as long as you're gentle.

Going with it inside a car/bus/airplane, I would remove it. Better safe than sorry. Thermal paste is cheaper than RMA'ing a mobo (not all thermal pastes, though).

Yeah stuff like moving it up onto a table to work on or something. Also to get it in/out from under my desk with my keyboard tray is kinda tricky. I have to tilt it at a 45 degree angle to get it in and then correct it once I'm in. Just want to make sure moving the case is safe.

I believe it's fine. Even a few bumps will be fine. Just try not to shake it too much and you'll probably be fine!

I've been at LAN party with that in my case. 200km+ with bus, train and walking. And it was raining first 20mins before I got into train. Its actually quite light and sturdy. Especially if your mobo has 9 mounting screws.
