Noob. Is it worth upgrading?

Go to solution Solved by Demons Wrath,

The 2600k is solid! Very solid. Change up the GPU to a GTX 970, or R9 290. All in all, aside from the GPU upgrade, your PC is quite nice.

And no, Intel CPU and AMD GPU is not a taboo of any sort. Anyone who suggests otherwise can die of an inflamed hymen.

Located in the US. Budget ~$2000

I've been slowly buying my way towards a custom water cooled system for a while now. And decided that I would like to upgrade to 4k, and now have reached the point where I need to look into actual components for my new build. Being the Novice I am with PC building I've discovered this to be quite a task, and its fun as hell. I find myself so ridiculously enthralled with PC building it's insane, but I think I've found something I truly enjoy doing. I know this may be a bit much for me to handle myself but I'm not going to learn enough by simply watching videos (which I have done, thanks Linus).

With the Black Friday sales around the corner I've decided to ask you wonderful people for some advice about whether or not it would be worth upgrading some of the components of the PC I already had purchased back in Dec 2011(This was my first build ever and I'm surprised the damn thing turned on with how little research I did). I've been considering upgrading Motherboard/CPU/graphics as well as Getting a 4k Monitor (when/if I can find one) as I move my build into her new home into a TJ11. But recently after reading a few forum posts I started to wonder if upgrading some/all of these would even give me any worthwhile boost in performance for the cost. As far as a price, I think i'd be able to put about $2000 more into her without my wallet murdering me in my sleep. But that'll be through the new year and I prefer not to consider price over quality. (I'd prefer to buy in small bundles rather then dropping $2000 in a week. But as the Black Friday sales are coming I have saved up just in case such an event would need to take place.)

Currently my PC specs are as follows:

I couldn't find the RAM or Graphics card on the part picker.

Graphics: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161372   I've been told I've committed a great taboo, Please don't hate for mixing Intel CPU with AMD Graphics I was young and it was cheap!

RAM: 4x  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233141

Nothing is overclocked. I thought myself to much of a novice 3 years ago and thought it best not to attempt such sorcery. I am open to learning to Overclock as I do feel more comfortable with my PC.

Current Parts I already have for my new rig or are on their way:

TJ11 case
compression fittings, tubing,
Alphacool Monsta Quad 120 radiator
Reservoir/pump(MCP655) on order from FrozenQ
1850RPM Scythe GentleTyphoon fans. X6
Intel 730 series 480GB SSD X2

I do mostly gaming on my PC (BF4/Minecraft/LoL/Archeage/Rift/Whatever else tickles my fancy at the moment), But I've started to get into making youtube videos I've yet to complete one as of yet though, still tinkering.

I wouldn't bother. Maybe pick up an R9 290?
Then hold out for Pascal, Cannonlake, and DDR4 prices to drop. They'll hold a true reason to upgrade.
