Development for/on Ubuntu

Anybody develop for/on Ubuntu? I just downloaded it, plan on having a dual boot of Win 8 and Ubuntu on my rig and possibly straight Ubuntu on my laptop (maybe not, idk yet). I want to develop some Ubuntu Apps so I know javascript will be supported, but in general how are the code editors for Ubuntu? And if you have experience with any sort of Ubuntu development, how has your experience with Ubuntu been?

What language are you trying to write? 

Java and web development (javascript, php, html, and css). For java I'd be using eclipse (which AraiBob mentioned is supported) and the Arduino IDE which I just read is supported!
